BE YOURSELVES | BE STREET | BE WISE

Any glasses-wearer knows that when you choose your glasses, you’re also choosing what part of your personality you want to shine. And since we usually have more than one version of ourselves, sometimes you need more than one pair of glasses.

To promote OPSM‘s offer to buy one pair and get 50% off your second pair, Marcel Sydney developed the ‘Be Yourselves’ campaign – playing on the idea of alter egos – and commissioned Craig and Karl to create the artwork. In a national campaign integrated across a number of digital and physical spaces, the illustrations were used for in-store signage, digital advertising and three dynamic TVC spots that were animated by the Flutter team.

Flutter designed and directed the TVC’s, bringing to life the characters created by Craig and Karl. The biggest challenge of the project involved addressing how each character would transform from one alter ego to the other in a way that differed from the transitions between characters. Flutter conceived the notion of revolving the entire moment of transformation around a clever switch of the characters glasses. This technique was produced in 3D, where by each pair of 3D modelled glasses physically morphed into an alternate pair.

The end result? A spectacle-ular roll out of three animations showing how viewers can explore their Mork and their Mindy, thanks to OPSM!
